The present Tourbillon 24 Secondes Contemporain model is preserved in like new overall condition and sold with its full set of accessories.
The Tourbillon 24 Secondes, the perfect combination of simplicity and complexity, is distinguished by its round case and the emphasis on the technical aspects of the movement, particularly the tourbillon. It uses a fast-rotational speed and inclined angle to solve the problem of critical positions of the oscillator in relation to gravity. The 25° angle and the rapid revolution of the tourbillon cage significantly improves the chronometric performance of a system containing only one tourbillon, especially in static positions.
The aim from the very start of its development was to offer a three-dimensional view within a circular backdrop, highlighting the beauty of Greubel Forsey’s Tourbillon 24 Secondes mechanism. Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey were guided in their architectural and technological creativity by a desire to achieve aesthetic balance in every dimension. The distinctive 12 o’clock index in relief is an example of the innovative spatial management of the components within this architectural study.
The movement features a titanium main plate, the bridges and balance cock are in German silver with the typical Greubel Forsey frosted finish. It comprises 267 components, 88 for the tourbillon cage which weighs a mere 0.39 grams and is powered by two coaxial mainspring barrels in series that provide a power reserve of 72 hours.
A transparent synthetic sapphire tourbillon bridge gives a captivating and hypnotic impression of the regulator floating in mid-air and underlines one of the highly creative challenges which are to be found throughout the timepiece.
Two hand-engraved curved plates with the philosophy and skill of Greubel Forsey are fixed to the sides of its case.

Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey have been working together for over 20 years in a relationship founded on their shared technical creativity and quest for perfection.
In 1999 they began working on a new generation of tourbillon specifically designed to improve the timekeeping of the mechanical watch. Four years later they unveiled "Greubel Forsey" and stunned horological aficionados with their innovative Double Tourbillon 30°, a timepiece clearly demonstrating their twin goals of innovation and excellence.
Robert and Stephen continue to build on their deep traditional knowledge gained with four decades of combined experience in high-end complicated timepieces, by inventing and developing technically valid horological complications to rigorous aesthetic principles.
