Les trois œuvres de Le Corbusier proposées ici pour la première fois en vente, proviennent de l’ancienne collection de Danielle Vogensky (ou Wogenscky). Née Danielle Janin, cette artiste et scénariste épouse l’architecte André Vogensky (1916-2004), qui fut l’élève de Le Corbusier avant de devenir son chef de cabinet. Tout au long de leur collaboration qui aura duré quinze ans, Vogensky et Le Corbusier ont travaillé sur des projets tels que la Cité radieuse de Marseille (1945-1952), la Manufacture Duval à Saint-Dié (1948) et les Unités d’habitation de Rezé (1952-1956) et de Briey (1955). La photographie ci-dessous illustre les relations étroites qu’a entretenues Danielle Vogensky avec Le Corbusier et d’autres artistes tels que Picasso; amitié également illustrée par les dédicaces personnelles qui figurent sur chacune des œuvres de cet ensemble.

The following three works by Le Corbusier, previously from the collection of Danielle Vogensky (or Wogenscky), are presented here at auction for the first time. Born Danielle Janin, she was both an artist and playwrite and whose first marriage was to the architect André Vogensky (1916-2004), a pupil of and later director of Le Corbusier’s firm. During their collaboration which lasted over fifteen years, Vogensky and Le Corbusier worked together on numerous projects, including the Cité radieuse in Marseille (1945-1952), the Manufacture Duval in Saint-Dié (1948) and the Unités d’habitation in Rezé (1952-1956) and in Briey (1955). The below photograph attests to the close relationships Danielle Vogensky enjoyed with not only Le Corbusier but also other artists, including Picasso. This friendship is also illustrated by the dedications present on each of the three works resented together here.
