Artist's… 顯示更多 Hockney first encountered Pablo Picasso's work on a visit to London as an art student in 1954, and when an important Picasso show was mounted at the Tate in 1960, Hockney visited the exhibition eight times. Inspired by Pablo Picasso's techniques, Hockney went to the studio of Aldo Crommelynck in Paris, where he learned about the sugar lift aquatint as well as colour etching techniques, which are used in The Blue Guitar to great effect.
