CIRCA 1790, IN THE MANNER OF THOMAS CHIPPENDALE THE YOUNGER
Each breakfront D-shaped top painted with cameo figures of Britannia en grisaille flanked by fruit-filled cornucopiae, ribbon-tied swags of flowers suspended from ribbons, all within a beaded border of beribboned oak-leaf trails, the frieze carved with stiff-leaves and trailing berried laurel centred by an oval classical medallion, on tapering fluted legs headed by Ionic capitals and terminating in plumes, joined by a concave stretcher carved with guilloche and centered by a foliate-carved domed boss, on reeded feet, with Norman Adams label, areas of refreshments to paint and gilding, probably originally with some pendant carvings
35 in. (89 cm.) high; 36½ in. (92.5 cm.) wide; 15¼ in. (38.5 cm.) deep; one slightly wider - 37½ in. (95.5 cm.) wide (2)
