塞繆爾‧約瑟夫維茲珍藏：倫勃朗圖像傑作

The Sam Josefowitz Collection of Rembrandt's prints is quite simply the greatest ensemble of the artist's graphic oeuvre still in private hands. No other collector of the 20th century was able to acquire as comprehensive and fine a collection of the Dutch master's etchings as Sam Josefowitz.

Seventy five works from these outstanding holdings, equal to none in quality and depth, will be offered in two sales on 7 December at Christie's London: the Old Master Part I auction will include five highly important subjects, representing different aspects of Rembrandt's genius as a printmaker in excellent examples. It will be followed by the Evening Sale of The Sam Josefowitz Collection: Graphic Masterpieces by Rembrandt van Rijn. This dedicated sale will present a selection of exceptionally fine and early impressions, including many extreme rarities, which have not been on the market for many decades. Together, these sales will provide an astonishing survey of the different genres, periods and working methods of Rembrandt's printed oeuvre - and offer a unique opportunity to acquire masterpieces by one of the greatest painter-printmakers in the history of European art
