Jean Michel Basquiat sculptures

Jean-Michel Basquiat’s sculptures extend his raw, graffiti-infused aesthetic into three-dimensional form. Often created from found materials such as doors, wood panels and discarded objects, his sculptural works maintain the same frenetic energy and layering of imagery seen in his paintings and drawings. He applied his signature marks, symbols and text onto these surfaces, transforming them into visual narratives that reflect his interest in identity, power and social commentary. Though relatively few in number, Basquiat’s sculptures offer a dynamic extension of his artistic language, further blurring the boundaries between street art and fine art.
