This charming illustration of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet is an unpublished work by Shepard relating to pages 42-43 of The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Shepard depicts the two characters in a 'Heffalump Trap for Poohs', capturing the cheekiness of Pooh and the innocence of Piglet portrayed in A. A. Milne's story.

Piglet enquires of Pooh 'What happens when the Heffalump comes?', after a short exchange, Pooh exclaims 'We'll notice each other for a long time, and then he'll say: 'Ho-ho!''
