The stamp on the verso of this photograph has been identified as M25 in Steven Manford’s book, Behind the photo: the stamps of Man Ray (2009). According to Manford, this is a lifetime stamp used from 1940 to 1951, “the stamp is also found on the backs of photographs Juliet sold to dealers” (pp. 27 & 33).
