The stamps on the verso of this photograph have been identified as M26 and M27 in Steven Manford’s book, Behind the photo: the stamps of Man Ray (2009). According to Manford, M26 is a lifetime stamp used after 1951 (p. 28) and M27 is “the primary ORIGINAL stamp fabricated in the early thirties […] (it) is found on select photographs and Rayographs” (pp. 29-30).
