An enduringly popular detective story: presentation copy of the first edition in the dust-jacket, inscribed by the author to her secretary, amanuensis and close friend Charlotte ‘Carlo’ Fisher: ‘Carlo with love from Agatha’. Death on the Nile was adapted into a film starring Kenneth Branagh as Poirot in 2022. Hubin, p. 79.

Octavo. 4 pages of publisher’s advertisements at end (a little minor light spotting). Original orange cloth, spine lettered in black (spine and edges of covers sunned, slight spotting to edges); original dust-jacket priced 7s. 6d. supplied from another copy (chipped with slight loss at spine and fold ends [not affecting text], upper part of lower panel with tear, slightly discoloured along folds and top edges of flaps). Provenance: Charlotte ‘Carlo’ Fisher (1895-1976, secretary, amanuensis and close friend of Agatha Christie; presentation inscription from the author on front free endpaper and posthumous book label).
