The Murder on the Links
Agatha Christie
CHRISTIE, Agatha (1890-1976). The Murder on the Links. London: John Lane the Bodley Head Ltd., 1923.

First UK edition of the second Hercule Poirot detective novel. 'It is Poirot who brings Murder on the Links to life, thanks to the bravura clarity with which Agatha brings him to life. She makes the workings of his brain into a kind of theatre. She uses his axiom-like theories, which are really flourishes of wisdom, as the means to achieve resolution' (Laura Thompson, Agatha Christie (2007)). Hubin, p. 80.

Octavo. 8 pages of publisher’s advertisements at end (minor stain to blank fore-edge of a few leaves). Original orange cloth, lettered and with an ornamental design to upper cover and spine in black (lacking the dust-jacket as usual, spine very slightly skewed, head and foot of spine rubbed, corners a trifle rubbed, slight wear to lower hinge).
