First edition of Pope and Ackerman's monumental Survey of Persian Art. Eden studied Oriental Languages (Persian and Arabic) at Christ Church, Oxford, and was greatly interested in art.
6 volumes, folio (376 x 280mm). Half-titles, 1482 plates of which 195 coloured, mostly photographic, titles printed in blue and black (half-title and title in final vol. lightly creased, otherwise a clean set). Publisher's blue buckram (spines faded, extremities lightly rubbed).
