Guggenheim Museum de New York, ou encore au Whitney Museum of American Art de New York. L’artiste a reçu en 2018 un Art + Technology Lab Grant remis par le Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Son œuvre est principalement constituée de films, vidéos et d’installations mettant en tension la nature et un environnement surmédiatisé, cette nature apprivoisée par l’homme mais demeurant pourtant sauvage et libre, premier lien pour l’homme entre le temps et l’espace. Diana Thater a également reçu de nombreux prix, dont le James D. Phelan Award in film and video de The San Francisco Foundation en 2006, et le Fellowship Award de la John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation en 2005.
