After purchasing this Joe Pass model arch-top, Rodgers recalls that he brought the guitar with him to see the legendary jazz guitarist: "I went down to the Village Gate [nightclub] after I bought this. So, when I bought it, it was already signed by Joe Pass, but I asked him to play it for me. And he played it, he played a song at the Village Gate, it was great....Cause at this point I was known, you know, people knew me. So, you know, obviously, I had a lot of chutzpah to walk up to Joe Pass because I didn’t know if he knew me. But he was really gracious and he played it..."
