One of Rodgers' crowning achievements was when he worked as a music director for the 48th Annual Grammy Awards in 2006. At this event he managed to reunite the original members of Sly and the Family Stone for a tribute to their enduring presence and contribution. Sly Stone appeared on stage with a host of stars for this tribute, including members from the band Aerosmith, who signed this guitar, along with Stone prior to that performance. Said Rodgers of his achievement: "I had it hanging up in my library. You know, I was so proud...that I got all three guys to sign it."
