Reference 5170
Reference 5170, a manually wound two-register chronograph, was launched in 2010 and was initially available only in yellow gold as reference 5170J.
The model offered a new look compared to its predecessor, reference 5070. The tachymetre scale has been replaced by a 15 pulsation scale, found on some rare earlier chronographs from the vintage era. Furthermore, for the first time, the reference houses the latest in-house calibre 29-535 PS with Patek Philippe’s new hallmark of excellence, the Patek Philippe or "PP" seal.
The white gold version of the reference was introduced in 2013 as reference 5170G. This new white metal watch is most notable for its different dial which, in contrast to the yellow gold model, sports a stunning new dial type with the much sought-after Breguet numerals.
Ref. 5170R, the pink gold version as the present watch, was launched in 2016 and available with white or black dial with simplified design. The pulsation scale was replaced by a single railway scale calibrated for 60 seconds. The Breguet numerals and leaf hands are in pink gold, matching the case.
Patek Philippe or “PP” seal
