The present ref. 3215 is a highly unusual and decorative wristwatch created by Patek Philippe and their celebrated retailer Hausmann in Rome. The movement, case and dial were supplied by Patek Philippe in 1957 and embellished with the diamond-set bezel, flower-shaped hinged cover and bangle bracelet by Hausmann, rendering it most likely unique.
Purchased by the present owner at Hausmann in the 1950s, it is furthermore preserved in very good overall condition and has never been offered in public before.
Reference 3215, the lady’s round shaped wristwatch, was launched in 1958 and remained in production until the late 1960s, made in all precious metals.
The basic ref. 3215 was also sold as a simple “head” case, without lugs, to allow jewellers to build their own cases, bracelets and other decorations around, such as the present example.
Hausmann & Co.
Hausmann & Co. was founded in Rome in 1794 by Ernst Hausmann, a young German clockmaker and his friend and partner Hermann Frielingsdorf. The firm is still residing in the same premises in Rome's historical centre and represents the world's most prestigious watch and clock manufacturers, notably Patek Philippe.
