The General Hubbard edition, no. 6 of 500 signed copies, with Peary’s daughter’s bookplate. Peary’s account of his expedition to the North Pole was embroiled in controversy when Frederick Cook claimed to have reached it a year prior—although Cook was discredited in court, suspicion has since been cast on Peary’s own claims.
