拍品专文

“Wesslemann decided to avoid manipulating or emphasizing shapes for compositional importance. Obvious or exciting composition would be eliminated. The final goal would be to concentrate and focus on just the intensity of the subject and make the painting somehow intense, vivid and true. The intensification would be realized by relying on the inherent power of the subject or object and its presentation – context; relationship to other elements; isolation; cropping; and through reinforcing, intense, non-literary color.” – page 16 Stealingworth
