Two transcripts in Hebrew of weekly summaries of the radio broadcasts dated 15 May 1948 and 22 May 1948, 2° (330 x 208mm), 3 ll., cyclostyled on rectos only, stapled. (Spotted, edges a little creased, staples rusted.) [With:] 20 transcripts of daily English transmissions, nos. 4-23, dated 3 March 1948 - 21 March 1948, and 16 further transcripts, nos. 53-68, dated 19 April 1948 - 4 May 1948. 2° (330 x 208mm and smaller), (Light vertical creasing.) [With:] Americans for Haganah. New York: 15 August 1947. Illustrated bifolium, 2° (280 x 215mm), Vol. 1, No. 1, together with a cyclostyled press release promoting this first issue. [With:] 4 pamphlets on the history and nature of the Haganah, and several other pieces of ephemera, various sizes. All holed for filing and contained within contemporary card folder, excepting the first two-named which are loosely inserted (folder with extremities rubbed).
EXTREMELY RARE RADIO TRANSCRIPTS OF BROADCASTS MADE IN THE DYING DAYS OF THE MANDATE AND ON THE CUSP OF ISRAELI INDEPENDENCE. The lot also contains the very rare and influential first issue of the paper Americans for Haganah, which has a picture of the Exodus on the front page. This publication illustrates the shift in world influence on Jewish matters to the USA.
