Als Gegenpunkt zur Industrialisierung im Wallis malte Biéler ab 1930 Gouachen mit historischen Gebäuden des ganzen Kantons. Sie entstanden im Hinblick auf ein geplantes, aber nicht realisiertes Buch Gazette de Lausanne.

From 1930, as a counter point to the industrialization in the canton of Valais, Biéler painted gouaches of historic buildings of the whole canton. They were created for a planned but unproduced book by the Gazette de Lausanne.
