Rectangular, the covers enameled in vertical bands of translucent pale pink over a wavy guilloché ground and opaque white, within gold bands, the front cover centering a circular cartouche enameled in translucent white over a sunburst guilloché ground, applied with a diamond-set Imperial double-headed eagle, within a gold bezel and varied-cut pearl border, suspended from gold swags set with four seed-pearls, all within laurel-chased borders, the ring ties containing a reeded pencil holder with opal finial, with suspension ring, the interior with silk liners, apparently unmarked
