Monkeys playing games, eating and dancing in an interior

This scene of boisterous monkeys making mischief belongs to a group of such scenes which have been associated with the Brueghel school as well as the Francken family of painters in Antwerp. This painting bears a panel-maker's mark on the reverse, possibly that of Guilliam Gabron (active Antwerp 1609-1662).
