The present lot is a fine example for a complicated watch made for the South American market, distinguished by its ultra precise chronometer movement and the heavy, lavishly decorated case, bearing witness to the extraordinary quality of watches made by A. Huguenin & Sons.

A. Huguenin & Fils was founded by Adolphe Huguenin in Le Locle the mid 19th century. Specialized in precision timepieces, the manufacture won various prizes at Observatory trials and participated also at the Philadelphia International Exhibition in 1876.
