'I first met Joel Meyerowitz in 1976 and the image "Dairyland" from his Cape Light series was the first photograph I bought. I later went on to represent him at my gallery and did a number of shows including the first show of his "Bay Sky" photographs, a series which is particularly important historically not only for its use of color, but for its prescience, from as early as 1975, of minimalism in the quiet and repetitive observation of sky, horizon, and water.' - J.D.
