'I had been looking at Eliot Porter books in 1989 prior to opening my first gallery and kept noticing a special quality in his images of clouds. Deducing this might be a subject dear to his heart I wrote to him in Santa Fe and was invited to visit and see for myself. There I found box after box of dye transfer cloud photographs neatly catalogued but never publicly exhibited or published. He agreed to a show and I opened my gallery in April 1990 with the highly successful exhibition, "Eliot Porter: Clouds".' - J.D.
