Sugata [configuration]:honzukuri, iori-mune, chu-kissaki, sakizori
Kitae [forging pattern]: ko-itame with jinie, masame on shinogiji
Hamon [tempering pattern]: wide gunome midare and togariba of ko-nie, ashi
Boshi [tip]: ko-midare
Horimono [carving]: kurikara on omote, koshibi on ura
Nakago [tang]: ubu, machiokuri, two holes
Habaki [collar]: single, gilt copper
In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard]
Koshirae [set of mounts]: comprising a broad, ribbed aogai lacquer saya with chrysanthemums, the upper part narrow with ribbed black lacquer; matching silvered-fuchi-kashira and kojiri with chrysanthemums on waves; gilt dragon menuki; mokko shibuichi tsuba with chrysanthemums in a stream with gilt details and silver rim, signed Ihosai Minkoku and with kao (cursive monogram), the hilt with a black leather band; 86.5cm. long
