From an ealry age he has expressed his knowledge of and love for nature through drawing. After completing a diploma in nature illustration at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, Vitaloni became the editor-in-chief and illustrator of L'Orsa magazine, the first Italian nature monthly for young people. He has worked with WWF-Italy on a project to reintroduce disappearing Mediterranean wildfowl species. Vitaloni's works appear in collections around the world.
