Beatriz Ordovas, Head of the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Auction, Christie's London: “We are pleased with the results of the Day auction, which represent the highest sell through rate for a February Day auction at Christie’s. We are particularly pleased that the Erik Mosel and Andrea Tschechow Collections sold 100%, as did the Michael Clark Company Charity, which achieved world record prices for artists such as Eddie Peake and Helen Marten. Led by Gerhard Richter’s Cage Grid I (Complete Set), which fetched £566,500/ $943,223/ €687,731, we welcomed a number of new collectors to this sale who drove competitive bidding in the saleroom. Building on the success and enthusiasm of this week’s Post-War & Contemporary auctions in London, we hope this enthusiasm continues throughout our online auction, 90s to Now, which is ongoing until 20 February.”
