With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated September 2010. Furthermore delivered with additional platinum case back no. 4'509'729, original sales tag, wooden and 18K white gold setting pin, leather folder, instructions manual, product literature, original fitted wooden presentation box and outer packaging.

The present platinum reference 5970 has never before been offered in public and is preserved in excellent, close to new overall condition. Featuring a diamond between the lower lugs, this horological complication with its beautiful black dial and elegantly fluted lugs succeeds in giving its wearer the feel of a classic watch with contemporary flair. With its large diameter of 40 mm., it offers readability and makes a sophisticated statement.

A successor of the celebrated reference 3970 and virtual "grandchild" of Patek Philippe's legendary reference 2499, reference 5970 was introduced to the market at the Basel Fair in April 2005 and remained in production until about 2010. The model immediately enjoyed enormous popularity amongst collectors and was available in white gold or pink gold only until 2007 when the production of these two versions ceased. Reference 5970 in yellow gold was in production only in 2008. From 2008 until the end of production, the model was available exclusively in platinum. Reference 5970 was replaced by the smaller reference 5270, introduced at Basel World in 2011, which boasts an additional day/night indication on the dial, as well as a separate leap year cycle and is equipped with in-house calibre CH 29-535 PS Q.

Reference 5970 is the last perpetual calendar chronograph of the company featuring the Geneva seal on the movement as Patek Philippe began stamping their movements with the Patek Philippe Seal from mid-2009 as a new quality benchmark for its mechanical timepieces.
