Lot Essay

Slim, elegant and extremly light, the Répétition Minute Souverain was first unveiled in 2008 and it was at this time the thinnest minute repeating wristwatch on the market. With a movement that's just a hair over 4 mm. high and a case that measures just 8.65 mm. case – the Souveraine repeater remains exceptionally thin.

The stainless steel case was chosen for its better acoustics similar to the Grande and Petite Sonnerie model. Another key feature is the use of flat hammers and gongs, rather than the steel wires found on traditional minute repeaters.

Excellence, Creativity, and Independence are the three key words that define awarded watchmaker François-Paul Journe. His label “Invenit et Fecit” (Latin for “He invented and he made it”) appearing on each dial and movement certifies that the wristwatch was entirely designed and manufactured in-house.
