Lot Essay

Henry Steinberg was an avid collector of Lichtenstein works. He consulted with Mary Lee Corlett for , the National Gallery of Art, a Catalogue Raisonne, 1948-1993, and is expressly acknowledged in the book. was published to announce Lichtenstein's exhibition at Leo Castelli Gallery in 1963. (Corlett p. 255) Steinberg also consulted on Ernst A. Busche’s , in which five prints from his collection are illustrated.
