An uncommonly fine first edition in the rare dust-jacket. One of only 1,000 copies of the first edition. The fourth book of a series telling of the adventures of the amateur detective Lord Peter Wimsey who uncovers the mysterious death of a member at the prestigious London gentleman’s club, Bellona.
Octavo. (Some spotting, principally to margins, remains of tape marks on rear endpaper). Original black cloth, spine and upper board lettered and decorated in orange (negligible wear, a few marks to one corner); original printed dust-jacket (two spots on flaps, head of spine a little frayed and with one short tear, a few trivial nicks to extremities).
