Artist's Resale Right Regulations 2006 apply to this lot, the buyer agrees to pay us an amount equal to the resale royalty provided for in those Regulations, and we undertake to the buyer to pay such amount to the artist's collection agent. 1963年，畢加索結束了近十年對從委拉斯奎茲、德拉克羅瓦、馬奈到普桑等過去大師藝術的探索詮釋，將主題轉向了與藝術創作更緊密相連的基本，即畫家與模特之間密切而神秘的關係。該系列作品之一的本幅《畫家與他的模特》，曾是畢加索妻子傑奎琳·洛克舊藏，之後由女兒凱瑟琳·於坦—布萊繼承。畫家與模特的系列創作從1963年2月開始，在1965年3月完成最後一組作品達至高峰。本幅作於1964年11月15日，是秋天所作的系列組畫之一，該組作品有豎向或橫向的構圖，但大部分作於大尺幅的畫布。色調柔和，淡綠色和粉色或淡紫色構成微妙的對比，仿佛作畫時地中海冬季銀白的光線透過窗戶灑進了畫室。在柔和的顏色上，畢加索用一系列黑色線條描繪出男性畫家與裸女的基本特徵，猶如密碼電文般的線條和形狀組合，勾勒出他們的臉部和身體。
