Osuga Takashi, born in Kagawa, studied metalwork at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts and later under Kitahara Senroku (1887-1951), a pupil of Un'no Shomin (1844-1915). His works are praised for their realistic modelling of insects and were awarded a number of times at the , and during the 1920's to 1930's, and in 1958.
