Lot Essay

With Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1953, cased in 1971 and sold on March 15th of 1977.

Production of the Reference 2471 was launched in 1950 and only lasted a few years until 1953. It is one of the rarest rectangular models produced by during this era and is distinguished by the highly unusual triple scroll lugs, referred to as "Ricciolino" or "Ram's Head" by collectors. Approximately 75 watches were made in total of which only about 20 were cased in pink gold. According to our research, only four other examples in pink gold have been identified back into the market.
