Villa Metternich on the Rennweg in Vienna was the summer residence as well as the only house owned by Klemens von Metternich (1773-1859), Foreign Minister of The Holy Roman Empire from 1809 to 1848. That's in his villa that Metternich organized the first conference of the representatives of the powers previously allied against France, held on 19 September, 1814. Later that year he organized at the villa a Peace festival attended by all the monarchs, and reigning princes of the time. The house was demolished in 1873 and replaced by a palace which is now the seat of the Italian ambassy.
