Marked Fabergé, with the workmaster's mark of Michael Perchin, St.Petersburg, circa 1890, the miniature by Johannes Zehngraf
Square with cut corners, the wood frame mounted with a gold aperture in the shape of a porthole on a swivel hinge, enclosing a portrait miniature of Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich, the back of the frame with a wood strut and inscription in Russian, 'From Sandro 1894,' marked on mounts, the portrait signed on the left border 'Zehngraf'
