Art of Wishes

A charitable auction supporting Make-A-Wish UK

  • Event date 9 October 2023
  • Event location 伦敦
Christie’s is proud to support Art of Wishes, a charitable organisation founded by Batia Ofer that hosts artworld events in aid of Make-A-Wish UK, part of a global foundation that helps to fulfil the wishes of children with critical illnesses.

The organisation’s annual Art of Wishes gala auction will welcome its fourth edition this autumn, which will be held in collaboration with Christie’s at Raffles London at The OWO. More than 30 artists have donated paintings and sculptures—among them Alfredo Jaar, Jenny Holzer and Erwin Wurm, alongside a strong new-generation line-up including Michael Armitage, Jadé Fadojutimi and Grace Weaver—will be offered during the charity auction on 9 October.

Ahead of the event, works will be on view at our King Street galleries from 3 to 7 October. Don’t miss the chance to view extraordinary works of art and participate in a meaningful cause.

About Art of Wishes

Art of Wishes logo

Art of Wishes is a charitable initiative that brings the art world together to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Over 60,000 children in the UK suffer from life-threatening medical conditions. For many, this means an endless round of hospital visits and operations, bringing uncertainty not only to them but to their families and loved ones. The granting of a wish helps alleviate some of this anxiety and in some cases, it can actually aid recovery. Research has shown that when a child sees the seemingly impossible happen, it makes them believe they can do the same.

A wish revives a childhood stolen by critical illness. It brings light and joy to children and their loved ones and leaves a profound and lasting impact on all their lives.

About Make a Wish UK

Make a Wish UK logo

Make a Wish UK creates joy, happiness and magical memories through life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Whether it's starring in their own films, feeding tigers, meeting a celebrity hero, or having a bedroom redesigned just so; the wishes are varied, personal and life-changing. Because a child’s life shouldn't be about illness, hospitals and diagnosis—it should be about wonder, joy and hope.
