Lot Essay

“We’re covered in an infinite net that expands infinitely, and we dwell at one end of the net. As we search for hope in this infinite net, we have to think about tomorrow. Such is the mysterious world of the infinite net.”--Yayoi Kusama

In LOVE-FOREVER, the infinite net is delicately set across the chair to evoke an expanding space. The space enveloped by the net and the real physical space comes into a sharp visual contrast. With her playful command of this sense of displacement, the artist directs the viewer’s glance towards a direction that usually eludes them, guiding them to see the beauty in everyday life.
