Offered by an Important Private Italian collector, the present timepiece astounds through its stunning silvered soleil dial featuring tropical chronograph registers and the Daytona signature at 12 o’clock. Occurring on rare instances, the tropicalization of a dial can result in fundamentally changing the aesthetic and appeal of a timepiece. In this instance, the color change occurred towards the chronograph registers of the chronograph, turning throughout the years from black to a rich and vibrant brown tobacco color.
Captivating specimen of the reference 6262, the present timepiece is very well preserved, with an attractive stainless steel case of strong proportions with pump chronograph buttons and featuring the final evolution of the 727 caliber, a modified version of the Valjoux movement used on all Rolex manual chronographs until replaced in 1987 by the automatic Zenith El Primero caliber. Correct for the reference, the timepiece is further assembled with a metallic bezel graduated to 200 units and a stainless steel case back stamped 6239.
