Lot Essay

The present reference 6262 is made especially striking for the way in which the registers have turned to a stunning “tropical” brown color. Collectors have long placed a premium on vintage Rolex sports models, such as Daytonas, where the black portions of the dial have turned brown due to the natural beauty of this aging process. For collectors of exceptional Daytonas, this would be a pleasing and important addition.
