signed ‘Rodin.’ (on the front of the rock); inscribed with foundry mark 'F. BARBEDIENNE. FONDEUR. PARIS (FRANCE)' (on the left side of the base); stamped with chaser's mark 'K' (on the rim of the underside); numbered '21FR' (on the inside)
bronze with dark brown and green patina

Conceived in 1886; this bronze version cast between 1910 and 1918
