Hilda Trog (1896-1984) war die Tochter des Kunstkritikers und Kulturredaktor der Neuen Zürcher Zeitung Dr. Hans Trog. Cuno Amiet stellte 1894 in der Kunsthalle Basel fünf Bilder aus, die, obwohl vom Publikum abgelehnt, Bewunderung und Anerkennung von Hans Trog ernteten. Trog und Amiet pflegten über die Jahre eine familiäre Freundschaft und die hier dargestellte Hilda verbrachte öfters bei der Familie Amiet ihre Ferien.
Das Werk ist im Schweizerischen Institut für Kunstwissenschaft, Zürich, unter der Nr. 32'911 registriert.
Hilda Trog (1896-1984) was the daughter of the art critic and cultural editor of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Dr. Hans Trog. In 1984 Cuno Amiet exhibited five paintings in the Kunsthalle Basel which, though rejected by the public, captured the admiration and acknowledgement of Hans Trog. Over the years, Trog and Amiet maintained a familiar friendship and Hilda, represented here, often and repeatedly spent her holidays with Amiet's family.
The work is registered as no. 32'911 with the Swiss Institute for Art Research, Zurich.
