AN EXTRAORDINARY COLLECTION OF FIRST GROWTH BORDEAUX INCLUDING PRISTINE CASES OF LAFITE-ROTHSCHILD 1982, 1986 & 1996, LATOUR 1982 & MARGAUX 1996
All the wines in the following lots 1003 to 1051 are in excellent condition and original wooden cases. The cases of Lafite-Rothschild 1982 & 1986 and Latour 1982 are recent Château releases and were bought directly from the Châteaux on 30th September 2005 and offers buyers the opportunity to acquire rare First Growth Bordeaux in impeccable condition. All the wines have been recently removed from optimum storage in the underground cellars of Octavian in the U.K. and transported to Hong Kong specifically for the sale

Tasting Note: "Eventually a triumph. On decanting and for two and a half hours later, the wine was big and smoky, with ripe fruit, a rather burnt nose, and firm, grippy tannins. With time a softer, riper plum and fig fruit character arose and the smoky, burnt aromas took a backseat, along with cedary lead pencil notes. On the palate in time the tannins softened as well, providing a lush, rich, velvety drink just in time for the steak." CC, December 2009
