Lot Essay

The present work was painted at the Chateau de Fontcreuse, Cassis, on the estate of which Bell and Grant had their house, La Bergére, in April 1932.

We are very grateful to Richard Shone for his assistance in cataloguing the present work and lots 10 and 22.
