Dedicated to Zhenqing

The inscription 'Zhenqing' refer to Chen Zhenqing who came from Dongwan, Guangdong province, grew up in Xiguan, Guangzhou city, and later studied at the Guangzhou City Art Academy, where he graduated in 1933. Chen moved to Hong Kong to escape the terrors of the Sino-Japanese war and took up the post of art director at the Overseas Chinese Academy and the School for Eastern Arts. After 24th July 1963, Chen assisted Zhao Shiming to promote and establish the cultural exchange of students between Hong Kong and the Guangzhou City Art Academy, where he gained close relationships with people in this art circle.
