COLLECTION D'UN AMATEUR PARISIEN Christie's a le privilège de présenter en vente cette collection d'un amateur parisien. Constituée principalement dans les années 1920 à 1930, cette collection est celle d'un amateur passionné, dont le goût personnel s'est enrichi de l'amitié fidèle et des conseils éclairés d'une éminente famille de marchands d'art parisiens. Ces oeuvres, qui auraient certainement été spolliées pendant l'occupation si un ami de la famille doté d'une étonnante présence d'esprit et d'un courage certain ne les avait pas mises à l'abri, témoignent de l'oeil aiguisé de celui qui a su les réunir en un ensemble fort harmonieux. Christie's is honored to represent the family in the sale of the following seven works from a Private Parisian Collector. Acquired primarily in the 1920s and 1930s, this assemblage of works is the result of a passionate collector whose keenly trained eye was enriched by the loyal friendship and professional advice of an eminent Parisian art dealer. These works, which would have certainly been looted during the Second World War had it not been for the risky initiative and the courageous efforts of friends of the Collector, remain in their whole a testimony to one man's love of art.
