Provenance
Commissioned by Henry Temple, 2nd Viscount Palmerston (1739-1802), as a gift to his friend Jean Huber of Geneva (1721-1786).
Passed some time after Huber's death, with his villa at Cologny, near Geneva, to the Gautier family.
