Celebrating an incredible journey of collecting Chinese paintings over five decades, Christie’s is honoured to present a non-selling exhibition of the Foh Collection. The Foh Collection was assembled by pioneering Singaporean collectors Foh Kim Hong and his wife Ms Chan Siew Fong, and is now managed by their son Foh Kai Lik. The Collection contains several hundred 20th Century Chinese paintings dating from the late Qing dynasty to the late 1990s. From traditional literati landscapes in ink and brush, to Western style impressionist and abstract works in oils, the Collection embraces a diversity of styles, techniques, media, and subjects. Important and acclaimed artists such as Wu Guanzhong, Lin Fengmian, Zhang Daqian, Huang Binhong, and Xu Beihong are well-represented in the collection. With their lifelong passion for Chinese paintings, the diverse tastes of the Foh family come together, forming this Collection which reflects the family’s backgrounds and perspectives.
